Rho Ophiuchus Cloud Complex
The Most Colourful Region of the Night Sky

Description
The Rho Ophiuchus Cloud Complex is probably one of the most colourful regions of the night sky. These prismatic colours are true colour - if the human eye were vastly more sensitive, this is how it would appear. The blue reflection nebulae come from the scattering of starlight from blue stars, while the reds are from hydrogen emissions. The bright yellow nebulosity comes from the scattering of starlight from the red supergiant star Antares.
A globular cluster, Messier 4, is also visible in the right of the frame - comprising of very tightly packed stars.
